Created To Love Blog: Now is the Time to Embrace Change

Greetings and Happy New Year!

This blog was so difficult to write. Not until I moved myself out of the way and allowed the Holy Spirit to speak through me was I able to put pen to paper. So here goes!

In the Bible, in 2nd Corinthians 3:18, NLT states, “The Lord who is the Spirit makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” Clinging to the past is futile. Though you might crave the comforts of what you already know, it is the nature of life to grow, evolve, and change. Human beings grow through the seasons of life, moving from childhood into adolescence and then adulthood, from immaturity to maturity. Embracing change does not mean throwing out valued traditions and relationships. Embracing change means that you are open to God’s bringing fresh opportunities and new possibilities your way. Choose a radical form of trust in God today and welcome change into your life. (O Lord of Hosts blessed is the one who trusts in you! Psalm 84.12, ESV)

After having two strokes during knee surgery, my life changed. I was more mindful of people who had had a stroke, and God showed me my purpose through what I went through. Honestly, if it were not for my faith and trust in Him, the transition and recovery would have been devastating to me. The hope that he gave me and the attitude of gratitude made it easier to accept the unexpected change that would take place in my life for the next several months. I embraced what he was doing and looked for the greater good of the transformation in my life. I am eternally grateful.

Bottom line, you will encounter situations in your life that will bring about change. It can be external change that we cannot control like a new grandchild, new brother-in-law or an internal change where we have a paradigm shift in our thinking. It depends on your attitude and thoughts about change that will make the journey more bearable. Embrace change and trust God in the process.

I pray that this year will be a year of the best for you because you choose to trust God as He shapes and mold you into his likeness. I pray that you will live life fearlessly and wisely as God does what He does best, transform the heart of man.

Blessings always!
